And then Night Flight Happened

Just before MTV, there was USA's Night Flight... a strange mix of music and video shorts... and I remember this... Gary Numan's Cars... My brother ripped on it and made fun of him for wearing a "woman's jumpsuit"... But to me... This was exciting. A new sound that wasn't super aggressive and made me feel dancy!!! And oh boy did this open up a new avenue to explore...

This was the very first 45 rpm record (I just call em 7"s, from my punk rock years) I bought.. My first 7" was Boston's more than a feeling... my brother bought me that... HATED IT!!! but I thanked him... Boston (and many other arena rock bands of that era) would NOT be motivating to me...  Boston, REO Speedwagon, Kansas, The Eagles, et al... were not my cup of tea... (In fact, that was when I realized "radio rock" and me would never have a connected intimate relationship... )
